Good Afternoon Desert Sky Families,
By now, most of you have received communication regarding the bomb threat at Desert Sky Middle School today.
The Tucson Police Department responded promptly, conducting a search of the campus in accordance with their procedures for handling bomb threats. Following their assessment, it was determined that the campus was safe for students and staff to return.
Desert Sky staff acted swiftly to evacuate the campus and ensure that all students were accounted for.
Our first priority is always the safety of our students. We deeply appreciate the rapid response of law enforcement, as well as the cooperation of our staff, students, and families. While events like this are unfortunate, we view them as opportunities for learning and improvement. We will take the time as a staff and as a campus to debrief and reflect.
I am profoundly grateful for all of your support as we continue to strive to do what is best for our students.
